Lake Kanasatka Watershed Association Annual Meeting/Picnic

The second business meeting of 2009 for the Lake Kanasatka Water Shed Association (LKWA) was held on August 15, 2009, at Von Hurst Beach. The meeting was called to order by President Antonia von Gottberg at 11:30 am.

Jane Fairchild, Secretary, read the minutes of the July 11, 2009, annual meeting. A motion was made and seconded to accept the minutes as read. Motion carried unanimously. The minutes will be posted on the website.

Antonia explained that although there had been no Nominating Committee this year, officers for the next two years need to be elected. She is able to continue to serve as president. Laurie Whitley has resigned as vice-president. The group recognized Ms. Whitley’s past service to the LKWA. Doug Whitley has also said he will continue to serve as Treasurer if needed. Jane Fairchild has expressed an interest in becoming the vice-president.

A motion was made and seconded to appoint Ms. von Gottberg as president, Ms. Fairchild as vice-president, and Doug Whitley as treasurer for the next two year term. Motion carried unanimously. This leaves the secretary position vacant. No volunteers stepped forward. Antonia will seek to fill the secretary’s position over the coming months.

Since the food at the potluck picnic looked so appetizing, a suggestion was made that Lake Kanasatka cottage owners and guests send recipes to the webmaster for posting so all can share. The goal might be a cookbook of LKWA recipes that could be sold as a fundraiser. If anyone has favorite “camp” recipes, please send them to jscudder@kanasatka.org

There being no other business, the meeting adjourned at 12 noon. A potluck picnic was held with Ted Hilton serving as the hospitality volunteer.
