MEETING MINUTES
President Bill Smith introduced Ann Hackel, a trustee of the Lakes Region
Conversation Trust, who spoke of the objectives of their organization. Their
main priority Is the Castle in the Clouds property.
Red Hill - 2500 acres in trust.
P & S agreement on Castle property
for $5.9 million, closes on 12/15/01
$2.8 million has been pledged to date.
The Castle is to be leased back by
the current owner for 2 years.
A Fund Raiser will be held on August 29 at 6 p.m. with wine and cheese at
the Geneva Point Barn. The speaker will be Torn Curran, Director.
Bill Smith opened the business meeting at 3:50 p.m. and waived the reading
of the July 21st mInutes.
The treasurer's report was given by John Scudder, filling In for Bob Brennan.
Disbursements:
$50 to the Loon Preservation Committee
for use of the meeting room In July
$100 donation to the Loon Preservation
Committee
$100 donation to the N.H. Lakes Association
$100 donation to the Lakes Region Conservation
Trust
Deposit: $310. dues
Balance:$4,438.52
Bill Smith spoke on the Water Monitoring Program and stated that the water
quality is holding its own - a "clean lake".
Nominating Committee report: Chairman Bill Smith reported that 8 candidates
were contacted and declined. Bill Smith is the new President.
Doug Whitley volunteered to do water quality.
Jill Anderson volunteered to be in charge of Hospitality.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:30 p.m.
