Ice Out Declared!
The official ice out date is April 22 at 8:22 AM.  John McRae, the official 'Kanasatka Icemeister' declares Ice Out when he can paddle his kayak to all his ports of call:  the Whitleys, the Martins and the Kelley's.  Last year's Ice Out was on April 18.

Summer Activities
Time to plan your summer activities.  Set aside some time for the LKWA Boat Parade on July 4th at 2:00 PM starting at Animal Island and the LKWA Annual Meeting on July 12th at 9:00 AM at the Moultonborough Public Library meeting room.

Potential Impacts of Kilnwood Dock Expansion
The Loon Preservation Committee offers a summary of Lake Kanasatka loon nesting activity and nest raft use to add to the discussion of plans to expand the boat dock and shoreline use at Kilnwood.  Read about it here in the Lake News.

Kilnwood is asking to change their community dock system.   The Kilnwood Association would like to make some changes to the original court stipulation that has been in effect since 1973.  Read about it in the Lake News.  

There is a new Camp on the Lake.  The LKWA welcomes Camp Hawkeye to the lake. It will be  located at the old Deer Hill Camp on Red Hill Road.  Camp Hawkeye is a small coed residential camp for kids ages 8-16.  Their program is an environmentally conscious one with a large Nature and Outdoor component.  Find out more about Camp Hawkeye from their website.

Help Wanted! Our hospitality committee needs your help. The members of this committee are responsible for providing refreshments such as coffee and donuts at our annual meetings and/or hotdogs, hamburgers and drinks at or annual picnics. Our present crew as been working hard at this task for many years, they need a break.  Can you help?  Would you be willing to become a member of this committee, or do you know someone who might be interested.   Call Mary Ann at 603-253-4439 or send an email and let us know that you want to help.  And the July 4th Boat Parade is not too far off.  We need a volunteer or volunteers to chair that committee and to organize this year's parade.  If you are interested call Laurie at 603-253-3017 or send her an email.
